"The Lost Generation"

When I first saw this video I was stunned. It really makes you think about your life, your place in society, your future and your potential. I feel that this video really encompasses all that leadership has to offer. Leaders are not made from a cookie cutter mold, shaped from theories in a book. Leaders emerge from hardship, from trying to fight against a status quo, from emerging out of the darkness of a "lost generation". It will take individuals with vision and courage to make what goals and aspirations that end the end of this video speaks about a reality; otherwise the beginning poem will hold true.

I believe that I am not part of a "Lost Generation" I will make sure that I make a difference in this world and I will be a leader for a generation that still be finding its way. Our generation is not lost, we are simply trying to be found and what we may find on this journey can be simply wonderful.

When you watch this video I want you to ask yourself; which one you want to be your reality? And then how are you going to lead yourself and others to realize that goal.

Happy Reading!

  1. That is exacty what the new generation needs, new emerging leaders. At the rate that we are now going we need leaders such as the one we saw recently,Occupy Philly,New York,DC etc.We have a big problem coming at us as young people but may be some of us do not see it.We have high rates of unemployment, our population is not matching resources and crime is up.The kind of leaders that we have now are too comfortable after so many years in power that they have forgotten their people. Its about time we vote in leaders who are familiar with the 21st century challenges to step in and take charge. Both GOP(Which is really a Grand Old Party)and Democrats keep fighting each other for their own selfish gain.Do you think we should have a retirement age for Congress.

  2. I've been thinking recently that a big reason for this generations lethargy is really a lack of original thinking. A lot of us see things in this non-flexible way, most likely because the way we are raised and taught is fairly standard. We have this set expectation of what will make us worthy and successful, but since these ways may not reflect what we truly want, we go through the motions without any real passion.

If I can accomplish anything, it'd be getting people to think about what really makes them happy, what they really want to do, and then actually planning it out and going for it. It's certainly not the easy way, because people will tell us anything but the expected approach is not a good idea, and without "guidance" it can certainly be scarier, but in the end it'll get people to be more active in what they contribute to the world, as they're living a life they want rather than one decided for them.
